Laser-Speckle imaging is a technique that studies the interference of reflecting and scattered light from an object that is illuminated with a special coherent light source, e.g. LED light.
The interference image, also called speckle image, reveals information about structures under the surface.
MACU exists also in a version for speckle imaging (MACU-R-120-Speckle), which is still a research version and under development but scientific results are already astonishing.
Laser-Speckle imaging allows in-vivo imaging of blood perfusion in tissue, blood concentration and speed of blood flow by Laser Doppler in combination with lenses and special LCD detectors.
